Yandex ProBlogger: 1,000 Subscribers Get You In, but Views Get You Checked
In early September Yandex ProBlogger put six platforms into one account: Telegram, MAX, VK, Rutube, YouTube and Dzen. The entry bar looks generous, 1,000 subscribers. That is the number everyone remembers. The second threshold, the one checked on individual posts, sits deeper in the requirements section of the help pages. Below: what it says, how to estimate the reach you need in five minutes, and which mistake in that estimate is the easiest to make. The figures come from Yandex's own help pages and from reports published in September and October 2026.
In short. Yandex ProBlogger connects channels from 1,000 subscribers. For automatic ad placement the channel must be more than a month old, the latest post no older than two weeks, and every post has to collect at least 300 views on Telegram or 100 on MAX within its first 48 hours. The service's rules name artificial inflation of subscribers and views as a violation. Channels with 10,000 or more subscribers and a mainly Russian audience must be entered in the Roskomnadzor registry.
What Yandex ProBlogger is and how it works
Yandex ProBlogger is a free service where an author connects a channel and receives advertising from Yandex advertisers. It launched on September 3, 2026. According to Yandex, its advertising network already includes more than 25,000 channels and blogs, and over three years it has paid authors more than 6 billion rubles. The help pages state the advertiser base at over 600,000.
There are two ways to earn. Automatic placement works only on Telegram and MAX: a Yandex bot publishes the ad post and you are paid for views. It comes in auction and exchange models. The offers marketplace is open on all six platforms: you pick an offer yourself, write a post with a partner link and are rewarded for target actions by your audience.
Participants can be legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and self-employed people, and only Russian residents.
How many subscribers and views a channel needs for monetization
Yandex ProBlogger asks for at least 1,000 subscribers, and for automatic ads also views on every post within the first 48 hours: 300 or more on Telegram, 100 or more on MAX. The full set for automatic placement, per the help pages: the channel was created more than a month ago, the last post is no older than two weeks, the channel link is permanent and you are the owner. The offers marketplace asks for 100 views on posts older than two days, and adds its own condition: the audience regularly leaves reactions, comments or reposts.
How to calculate the reach your channel needs
The reach you need equals the view threshold divided by your subscriber count. For a channel with exactly 1,000 subscribers, the Telegram threshold means 30 percent reach, the MAX threshold 10. At 3,000 subscribers Telegram asks for 10 percent, at 6,000 only 5. A paradox follows: right at the entry point the reach requirement is the harshest. Subscribers are few, while the view threshold does not shrink along with them.
Can a channel younger than a month connect
Not for automatic placement: the channel must be more than a month old. The marketplace requirements do not mention age, but the service is new and conditions may change, so reread the help pages before applying.
How many subscribers does an average MAX channel have
Fewer than forty, if you trust the arithmetic. On October 2 VK reported that over the past year users created more than 15 million public and private channels in MAX, with 570 million subscriptions across them. Divide and you get about 38 subscriptions per channel. The average is misleading, since it includes private channels of ten people and large media outlets alike. But the order of magnitude shows that 1,000 subscribers is a noticeable mark in MAX, and the 100-view threshold is three times lower than the Telegram one.
For context: MAX has more than 90 million daily users and more than 140 million installs, CIS countries included. Users outside Russia number more than 11.5 million, with registrations led by Uzbekistan, followed by Kazakhstan.
A new channel has a hard time in such a crowd. A visitor lands on a page with a handful of subscribers and views in single digits, and leaves without reading a single post. Smooth-delivery services for subscribers and views exist for exactly this case. The MIX-SMM catalog has both subscribers and gradual-delivery views for MAX, and its quick order form needs only a link to an open channel and an email. So a small test order without registration lets you check speed and quality yourself without spending a large sum at once. The honest downside: the channel has to be public, and the outcome depends on the platform's algorithms. The second downside is heavier, and it is in the next section.
Boosting and monetization: what Yandex's rules say
The Yandex ProBlogger rules directly call artificial inflation of views, subscribers and clicks a violation, along with bots and incentivized traffic. If it is detected, the service may reject a post, withhold the reward, restrict the blog's participation or end it. During moderation, as the requirements state, audience engagement and the absence of artificial inflation may be taken into account.
Hence a fork, and it is better to name it out loud. Goal one: connect ProBlogger and earn from ads. Then artificially feeding your numbers works against you: income is calculated from ad views, and at a gradual speed the risk is lower but not zero. Goal two: keep the channel from looking empty to first visitors, for talks with partners, for a test. That is a different task, and whether to solve it is your call, made with the price in mind.
Does a channel need to be in the Roskomnadzor registry
Yes, if it has 10,000 or more subscribers and creates content for a mainly Russian audience. Under the advertising law, since January 1, 2025 ads cannot be placed on such channels until they are included in the Roskomnadzor list. The application goes through Gosuslugi, and the form link is in the Yandex ProBlogger help pages. If you are still approaching the first thousand, this is not about you yet, but it is worth planning the paperwork time in advance.
Which channels ProBlogger does not accept
Group chats, bots and any websites are not accepted. Some topics are closed too: cryptocurrencies, casinos and betting, astrology and esoterics, and channels that mostly publish classifieds, job listings, news or goods for sale. A separate line in the list covers blogs about earning online for views, clicks and tasks. Check your channel's topic against this list before applying, not after a rejection.
Where the calculation goes wrong most easily
The mistake is looking at the channel average, while the condition in the help pages is written about every single post. Take a hypothetical Telegram channel with 2,000 subscribers. Eight of its last ten posts got 500 views each, two stopped at 180 and 140. The average is about 430, and the owner decides the 300 threshold has plenty of margin. If the check looks at each post, an average of 430 proves nothing.
The second mistake: counting views on the day of the check instead of at hour 48. On older posts the number has grown over weeks, so the estimate comes out inflated. The third: forgetting freshness, when the metrics are fine but the last post has been sitting there for three weeks.
What to do today without opening any service
First, write down the views of your last ten posts. Keep in mind that on older posts the number has grown over weeks, so from today record views exactly 48 hours after publication.
Next, divide the threshold by your subscriber count, using the formula above, and compare it with the reach of your weakest post, not the average one.
Then check the channel's age, the date of the last post and the permanence of the link. Separately, match your topic against the list of banned ones and see whether you plan to connect any chats or bots.
Before applying to Yandex ProBlogger, also assess an honest reserve: a post that clears the threshold by a hair may miss it tomorrow.
One last thing. If you already have around ten thousand subscribers, start preparing the registry entry. For everyone else, reach is decided by regularity and the first hours of a post's life. The blog has a separate breakdown of starting from zero, covering how to get the first subscribers on Telegram and which ten posts should be ready beforehand. Start there if your channel is brand new.
Frequently asked questions about ProBlogger:
How many subscribers do you need for Yandex ProBlogger?
At least 1,000. For automatic ads, conditions on channel age, post freshness and views are added to that.
How many views do you need on Telegram and on MAX?
On Telegram every post must collect at least 300 views within the first 48 hours, on MAX at least 100. This is the condition for automatic ad placement.
Can a group chat or a bot be connected?
No. The requirements list group chats and bots among the places that cannot be connected for monetization.
Who can become a participant?
Legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and self-employed people, provided they are Russian residents.
What happens if you inflate subscribers before moderation?
Under Yandex's rules such actions count as a violation: the service may reject a post, withhold the reward, restrict the blog's participation or end it. The moderation decision cannot be predicted in advance.
A thousand subscribers is easy to count and tells little about a channel. Yandex ProBlogger checks behavior: whether posts get opened in the first two days, whether the channel is fresh, whether the audience is alive. While the average MAX channel has about 38 subscriptions, the winner is not whoever reached the round number first, but whoever's post gets opened right away.
